Scotts Make Major Upgrades to the Entry Level Trinity 54B 6 Row Haulm Topper
The heavily revised Trinity 54B fixed 6 row haulm topper can be seen for the first time in Hall 8 stand 900 at LAMMA 2023.
“We have spent a significant amount of time looking for improvements on our entry level topper with a firm focus on both mass centralisation and especially weight saving but only where it is beneficial” quoted Derek Scott MD. “By their nature, these types of machine can be cumbersome, and more often than not front mounted where stability is greatly reduced. To help manage the load better every effort has been made to bring the mass of the topper as close to the linkage points as possible. A move to a monocoque style chassis design has been adopted with less box section material being used, this both reduced weight overall and added rigidity especially to the A frame and gearbox mounting area. This improved chassis design allows for wider opening inspection doors to aid power washing after use. The gearbox is now mounted centrally to reduce changeover time from front to rear mounting, This gearbox is now also available in standard form or with an optional (and subsequently 12 kg heavier) 150hp rated version for those customers operating larger tractors in excess of 200 hp. Transmission remains unaffected with Walterschied PTO equipment used throughout 50mm high tensile drive shafts and 5 x Optibelt Red power belts delivering that power directly to the twin rotors. Improvements continue inside the hoods with a new deflector design which removes weight and better deflects debris into the valley bottoms. To further reduce the central “dead” area where the rotors meet a “T” type blade has been developed to provide increased removal of haulm between the tractor wheels. Overall width of the topper has also seen changes, A more compact V belt tensioner has resulted in the pulley guard and adjacent protecting bash guards to be reduced”.
Standard features remain with static “shear plates” to assist in finely chopping the haulm, 55mm taper locking bearings, 50mm 5 stud stub axles with additional seals, remote greasing and tool box. An optional end tow kit and hydraulic depth wheels are also available.
